Hospice Expansion - Capital Campaign

Home and Heart Capital Campaign
As a result of the increased demand for hospice palliative care services, the Provincial Government of BC has mandated that the number of beds available for hospice palliative care increase. The Prince George Hospice Society is the only such facility in northern BC and one of only eight in the province. The expectations are high for the Prince George Hospice Society to meet the challenge presented and provide additional comfortable accommodations in a supportive, home-like environment for individuals nearing the end of their lives.
This exciting project started in September 2008. Over $1.9 million has already been raised for the construction. Donations have come from a variety of sources including lead partners, foundations, and local residents and businesses.
Your Support Can Make a Difference in the Lives of Many
The objective of the our Home and Heart Campaign is to raise $2.2 million for expansion of our palliative care services to accommodate ten guests, as well as provide additional common areas, meeting spaces and private rooms for friends and family. We are appealing to you to assist us in expanding our valued services to meet the identified need in the community.
Prince George Hospice Society is viewed by other service providers as the group responsible to meet the needs of the people with a progressive life-threatening illness as well as ensuring the community needs are met in the area of education, understanding and dealing with grief. The Prince George Hospice Society as a partner in health care provides an important enhancement to the services provided by hospitals and other health care organizations and allows everyone a choice.
The Prince George Hospice Society works hand in hand with other health care providers like the Prince George Regional Hospital, Social and Family Services, Continuing and Palliative Care, and Northern Health. Together, essential services are provided to all citizens of Northern British Columbia including the very best of hospice care.
People want choices, particularly at a time of stress. Hospice care is about choices. The choices and decisions include to be surrounded at the time of death by family and supportive care givers, to be in control of life in the face of death, and to live life to the fullest.
The funds raised through the Home and Heart Capital Campaign will ensure the continuation and expansion of the Prince George Hospice Society’s valuable services in our community. We look forward to your continued support.
